Clayton County Public Schools Executive Director of Transportation Denise Hall was recently awarded the Director of the Year for the Metro Regional Educational Service Agency by the Georgia Department of Education Pupil Transportation Department.
Hall was honored in June at the 60th annual Georgia Association of Pupil Transportation Conference in Jekyll Island.

“Ms. Hall embodies the spirit of leadership, dedication, and excellence that we strive for in Clayton County Public Schools,” said Clayton County School Superintendent Anthony Smith. “Her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is truly commendable, and this award is a testament to her hard work and the outstanding performance of our entire CCPS Transportation Department.”
The new award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in the pupil transportation industry.
Hall was nominated by Maurio Dawson, CCPS Transportation operations facilitator II, and selected by transportation leaders from other Metro Atlanta RESA school districts.
This recognition highlights her exceptional leadership, commitment to student safety, and steadfast dedication to excellence in transportation, a CCPS press release read.
“Ms. Hall’s leadership ensures that thousands of students receive safe and reliable transportation daily, significantly contributing to their educational success and well-being,” the press release read. “Her dedication and hard work have consistently set a high standard within the pupil transportation industry.”
The school system also commended the entire transportation department.
“Their dedication plays a crucial role in the daily lives of our students and their families, contributing to the overall success and safety of our educational environment,” a CCPS statement read.
