Types of Membership​

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP  

Managing Partners and Board of Trustees may grant Full Membership to a person who, in the opinion of this Committee:

  • Is a HR professional who has practiced for at least one (1) year;
  • holds a senior officer position in a company or corporation;
  • Is a budding practitioner
  • holds a position in the public or private sector, whether in a professional, government, non-governmental organizations, welfare or politics;

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP  

The Managing Partners and Board of Trustees may grant Associate Membership to a corporation that, in the opinion of the Board, subscribes to the objects and is willing to provide revenue, educational information and help to advance HCI-SL in the business community.

The terms and conditions, a period of membership and fees shall be decided from time to time by the Board.

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP  

The Managing Partners and Board of Trustees may grant Affiliate Membership to an affiliate which, in the opinion of the Managing Partners and Board Trustees, enjoys special dispensation in relation to membership fees.

These fees will be reviewed annually and will cover a specific number of participants from the said affiliation.

FELLOW MEMBERSHIP  

The Managing Partners and Board of Trustees may grant fellow membership for such period as it deems fit to persons of distinction who have made significant contributions to the objectives of the Institute.

Fellow members shall have no voting rights and shall have to be paying annual subscription fees that will be determined and decided by the institute managing partners and board of trustees.

PROFESSIONAL FELLOW/ LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP  

Upon leaving office at the completion of the full term of office, the Managing Partners and Board of Trustees may grant Professional Fellow Membership to a retiring Executive. A Life member shall have 1 (one) vote in her/his capacity as a Life Member and shall have to be paying annual subscription fees that will be determined and decided by the managing partners and board.

If she/he continues to belong to another class of members, she/he may exercise the rights which may be attached to that class within the purviews of the institute.

ENTREPRENEURIAL  DEVELOPMENT  

HCI-SL shall pay particular attention to young and experienced HR professionals and intended entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone. The Managing Partners and Board of Trustees may initiate strategies to fulfill this intention.
